Good questions to ask before we begin
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as a collaborative, thought-provoking, and creative process that helps clients maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching provides a structured space to gain clarity, recognize patterns, explore possibilities, set meaningful goals, and take purposeful action.
Coaching and therapy can both provide meaningful support, but they serve different purposes. Therapy is provided by a licensed mental health professional and may involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions, processing trauma, or addressing psychological distress.Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. It is generally focused on personal and professional growth, greater self-awareness, future goals, decision-making, and action. If a client’s needs extend beyond the scope of coaching, I will recommend support from an appropriately qualified mental health professional. In some circumstances, coaching and therapy can work well alongside one another.
I offer coaching and consulting, depending on the client's or organization's needs. My coaching approach is informed by my training through the International Coaching Federation and is designed to help clients build awareness, identify possibilities, and determine their next steps.Consulting is more directive and may include professional observations, strategic recommendations, resources, or practical guidance. Some engagements intentionally blend both approaches. When that happens, I clearly communicate which role I am serving so clients understand when I am coaching and when I am offering consultation.
Coaching may be a good fit if you are ready to examine what is not working, consider new possibilities, and take meaningful action. You do not need to have everything figured out. You simply need a willingness to participate honestly, remain open to growth, and take ownership of the process.
Sessions are conversational, focused, and tailored to your goals. I will listen deeply, ask thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions, help you recognize patterns and possibilities, and work with you to identify practical next steps. You can expect a supportive, judgment-free space that also includes honesty and meaningful accountability.
Yes. The privacy of the coaching relationship is taken seriously, and confidentiality expectations are discussed before coaching begins. There are limited exceptions involving legal requirements or an immediate risk of harm. These boundaries will be clearly explained in the coaching agreement.
For clients under 18, a parent or legal guardian participates in an initial consultation to discuss goals, expectations, and the coaching process. The individual coaching sessions remain a trusted space for the student. Parents may receive general progress updates, but session details remain private unless the student gives permission or a safety concern or legal obligation requires disclosure.
First, schedule a clarity and strategy session. It's like a consultation. We will discuss what brings you to coaching, what you hope to accomplish, and which service or package best fits you. The session also gives us an opportunity to determine whether working together feels like the right partnership.
Yes. Coaching packages are available on a 4-month billing cycle. We discuss payment arrangements before coaching begins and include them in the coaching agreement.
